ASMP Houston, in conjunction with FotoFest, presents a special program with Stephen Wilkes
Stephen Wilkes leads an illuminating and ever-relevant seminar outlining his strategies for and experiences in crafting a successful career that spans both fine art and commercial photography. During the seminar, Wilkes will present various photographs from his many esteemed bodies of work, and will talk about how he has brought both sides of the spectrum together.
ABOUT STEPHEN WILKES:
Since opening his studio in New York City in 1983, photographer Stephen Wilkes has built an unprecedented body of work and a reputation as one of America's most iconic photographers, widely recognized for his fine art, editorial, and commercial work. Most recently, Wilkes spent much of 2017 documenting bird migration patterns for the March 2018 issue of National Geographic.
His photographs are included in the collections of the George Eastman Museum, Rochester, NY; James A. Michener Art Museum, Doylestown, PA; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Dow Jones Collection; Griffin Museum of Photography, Winchester, MA; The Jewish Museum, New York; The Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.; Snite Museum of Art, Notre Dame, IN; The Historic New Orleans Collection, New Orleans, LA; Museum of the City of New York; 9/11 Memorial Museum, New York; and numerous private collections. His editorial work has appeared in, and on the covers of, leading publications such as the New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, TIME, Fortune, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, and many others.
