Photlux Festival, Lucca, Italy
Enrico Stefanelli is a photographer, journalist, curator, and photography educator. He is the Founder of Lucca Photo Fest, an international festival of photography and video art established in 2005, and has served as the Artistic Director of the festival for 7 years. Stefanelli is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Photolux Festival, a biennial of photography in Lucca.

Since 2010, Stefanelli has been the Italian curator for Epea, the European Photo Exhibition Award. This is a project for the development of emerging talents in photography developed in collaboration between four European foundations: Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca (Italy), Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Portugal), Fritt Ord Foundation (Norway), and Körber-Stiftung (Germany).
Stefanelli has written articles and contributions on photography for several catalogs, books and magazines. He has been portfolio reviewer at Les Rencontres d'Arles, France; CENTER-Santa Fe, NM, USA; Kaunas Festival, Lithuania; Eyes in Progress, France; 16e China International Photographic Art Festival, Zhengzhou, China; Fotografia Euopea, Italy. He has been a jury member for Kaunas Festival, Lithuania; LensCulture, Netherlands; The Manuel Riverta-Ortiz Foundation Grant; Lugano Photo Days, Switzerland; FOTODOC Center for Documentary Photography at the Sakharov Center, Russia. He is a member of the Nominating Committee for the Joop Swart Masterclass at World Press Photo Foundation, and is a member of the Board of Trustee of The Man uel Ortiz Rivera-The Foundation for Documentary Film & Photography.
Stefanelli is interested in reviewing work focused in documentary or artistic histories, conceptual practices or more experimental traditions. He is also interested in dummy books or stories that can be published. As an Artistic Director and Curator of Photolux, Stefanelli can help in identifying unique strengths of specific achievements, in editing and sequencing, in exploring strategies of display (the relationship between form and content), and maybe find the way to expose in galleries or helping the photographer sharing the work with galleries or some photo-editors.
