Geoffrey C. Koslov is founder and owner of Foto Relevance, a Houston-based business that works with emerging and mid-career photographers. Foto Relevance focuses on representation of artists with 21st Century collectors. Koslov is also a collector of photography, and writes about photographers he meets that are creating new and challenging work.
Mr. Koslov has served on the Photography Acquisitions Committee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston for many years. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Houston Center for Photography, a nonprofit organization offering exhibitions, workshops, classes, and outreach programs. He is a member of its Exhibitions Committee and former co-chair of its Print Auction. Mr. Koslov is an experienced reviewer having previously participated with The Medium Festival of Photography, PhotoLucida’s Critical Mass, and Fotofest. Other organizations in which he participates are Photo Forum (affiliated with the MFAH), and several photography critique groups, including Pixels&Silver and the Houston Inner Loop Photography organization of art photographers.
He will be looking for work to represent and to suggest for private and institutional collections, as well as for exhibition. As a portfolio reviewer, he can offer participants advice and coaching on the presentation and discussion of work. His forty-year business background and involvement with the arts gives him a very unique perspective. He is most interested in photography that has a new and different artistic perspective, but is not interested in nudes, stock, advertising or commercial photography.
