Dr. Cindy Lisica, is a curator, art historian, and gallerist exhibiting a diverse roster of regional and international artists at Cindy Lisica Gallery in Houston. The contemporary art programming features an annual solo photography exhibition. Represented artists have recently exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution, The Andy Warhol Museum, the Atlanta Contemporary, and the Houston Center for Photography.
In addition to championing artists' careers through exhibitions at her gallery, Lisica has held museum positions in archives and collections management at Tate Britain, Tate Modern, The Warhol, MOCA Los Angeles, and the Menil Collection. She has taken her curatorial work to cities such as Paris, London, New York, Marseille, Berlin, Miami, Helsinki, Honolulu, Shanghai, Beijing, and Tokyo. Lisica is a writer and speaker on art and new media, with her most recent publications in CAA Reviews and Art Libraries Journal. She taught courses on East Asian visual culture at University of Pittsburgh, and currently teaches “Art and Architecture of India” and “Modern and Contemporary Asian Art” at the University of Houston.
