Patricia Conde Galería, Mexico City, Mexico
Patricia Conde Juaristi was born in Mexico City, Mexico, and studied Art History and Literature at Anahuac University. Her interest in art led her to open a space for artistic exhibition in 2003, a cultural center for contemporary art. She realized that photography, a major foundation of her artistic formation, suffered from a lack of spaces for exhibition, and has dedicated her gallery to being a platform for Mexican photographers nationally and internationally.
Since 2009, Conde Juaristi has directed Patricia Conde Galería, the only space dedicated exclusively to the promotion and diffusion of photography in Mexico, and has established the gallery as a place of reverence in the world of photography. She has presented several exhibitions of work by emerging and established artists, and has maintained important representation in many art fairs, including two of the most relevant photography fairs in the world: Paris Photo and AIPAD. In 2017, she will take a position within the board of directors of AIPAD (Association of International Photography Art Dealers). She is the first Latin American woman to assume this this position.
