Considered pioneers of digital imaging, Suzanne Bloom and Ed Hill began their artistic collaboration as MANUAL in 1974. Recipients of numerous grants, including four National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, they have shown their photographs, videos, multimedia projects, and installations widely, both internationally and throughout the United States. Their work is held in many collections including at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, California; the International Center of Photography, New York City; and the Federal Reserve Board, Washington, D.C. A retrospective of their work was organized by and exhibited at the International Center of Photography in 2002 and traveled to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, for exhibition in 2004. MANUAL is represented by Moody Gallery, Houston, where their seminal project, VIDEOLOGY, was first shown in 1974.
