Alfredo De Stéfano is considered one of Mexico’s most prominent contemporary conceptual photographers. His passion is the landscape, and specifically the desert landscape, which he has traveled and photographed innumerable times. His photographic series include Replenishing Emptiness (2002) and A Brief Chronicle of Light (2006). Since 2008 he has been working on a new series, Storm of Light, which takes place in different deserts around the world. De Stéfano has mounted over ninety exhibitions, both solo and collective, and his work has been shown in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Paris, France; New York City, New York; Houston, Texas; San Francisco, California; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and throughout Mexico.
